If you’ve been in Mansfield long enough, chances are you’ve heard of the Hornburg Real Estate Group and Angela Hornburg. Committed to giving back to the community she lives in, she’s been a consistent and passionate supporter of the Friends since she found us in 2012, starting as a member before becoming secretary for two years. After the birth of her youngest son in 2015, Angela transitioned back to member and unofficial recruiter for the Friends, sending members and sponsors our way.
As a 2017 Mansfield Reads! Masterpiece Sponsor and the presenting sponsor of movie night at Farr Best on April 7, we caught up with Angela for a few minutes to learn more about her business, why she loves it and her passion for the library.
Tell us about your business.
I lead a real estate team, along with my husband, Rick, that is specialized in residential real estate. We have been both blessed & honored to represent our clients on over 100 home sales last year. As specialists, we are able to provide our clients with true expertise and first-hand knowledge on each aspect of the home buying and selling process. We measure our success based on our client’s satisfaction & experience with us, so our goal is to exceed our client’s expectations every time.
What do you love about being a REALTOR®?
I am so incredibly passionate about being a REALTOR® because it combines my love for helping others with my gift for creating profit through marketing for my clients. There is nothing better than hearing how achieving their goals in real estate has helped shape people’s lives, creating lasting memories and different trajectories for people’s lives. It truly is a way to give back to others in our daily lives.
What’s one or two things you wish everyone knew about buying and/or selling a house?
I wish that everyone knew that it’s okay to reach out to your agent when you’re just thinking about buying or selling. We hear about some detrimental mistakes people make prior to being ready to take action, and it’s tough when you can’t help fix a situation for them. We’re always happy to advise our clients well in advance, without obligation, to be sure they’re as prepared as possible to either make the best decision for them or to maximize their position in the market when they get ready.
Why did you decide to support Mansfield Reads! and the Friends of the Library?
Literacy is very important to me. One of the most powerful ways to encourage people to develop or hone that skill is through reading. It’s a priority to me to support the Friends and all they do for our city library because I see it as a contribution to the community that we live and serve in.
The Mansfield Reads! event is a fabulous event that promotes not only reading but creating a sense of community. Living in our immediate & digital world, I think coming together as a community is an invaluable gift that they bestow on us & I’m honored to support it!
Is there anything you want people to know about the library or the Friends?
If you haven’t been to the library in awhile, it’s time to revisit it! Over the past few years, I have witnessed the exciting changes that now encompass the well-rounded library programming. The library has outstanding programs across the board with community involvement and family involvement, and is an excellent resource for everyone in our city.
I am also really proud to say that the Friends group has grown over the past few years. They’re a small group with a BIG impact. If you’re looking for a welcoming community to volunteer in, please consider joining them.
